Intersection improvements are underway at the junction of Marler Road and Alabama Highway 110 (AL‑110) to improve traffic flow and safety for drivers in the area. As part of the project, a new dedicated left-turn lane is being constructed on the southbound side of Marler Road to allow vehicles to more safely and efficiently turn west onto AL‑110. Additionally, an acceleration lane is being added to AL‑110 to give drivers a smoother and safer way to merge into traffic after making the turn.
These enhancements result from a partnership between the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) and the Town of Pike Road.
Once complete, the upgrades are expected to reduce congestion, shorten wait times, and significantly improve the overall functionality of this heavily traveled intersection.
