Since the Town of Pike Road’s founding, our vision has been guided by four core principles—what we call our Four Pillars. Planning and quality of life have been central to every decision we’ve made. These values are more than just ideas; they’re a daily part of how we serve our growing community.
One of the most natural ways to enhance the quality of life in Pike Road has always been right in front of us: our natural resources. From the beginning, we’ve looked for ways to help residents and visitors alike experience the beauty of our surroundings. That’s why we developed a plan to create a natural trail system.
With help from our partners at the Montgomery Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), we secured grant funding to launch an evolving and expanding trail system. What began as an idea has grown into a community asset — and it’s still growing.
Today, over 35 miles of natural-surface trails have been approved in our master plan. These trails are designed with everyone in mind—joggers, gravel bikers, walkers, and even horseback riders. They weave through some of our town’s most scenic areas and invite exploration, reflection, and connection with others.
We’re continuing to enhance the trail experience by adding trail stops and themed trailheads, each with its unique character. From vegetative trailheads that highlight our native landscapes to historical trailheads that tell the story of our community, each stop adds another layer of meaning. We’re especially excited about a future trailhead in the Arts District and another that we hope will honor our veterans and everyday heroes.
The Pike Road Trail System is more than a series of paths — it’s a plan to connect people. It brings neighbors together, encourages healthy lifestyles, and allows us all to enjoy the natural blessings that make this town special.
We can’t wait for you to experience it.
