PIKE ROAD, Ala. (WSFA) – Construction begins Monday on two new roundabouts in Pike Road.

The roundabouts will be installed on U.S. Highway 80 at the intersection of State Route 126 and the intersection of Marler Road, according to the Alabama Department of Transportation.

Construction starts after a years-long process to ease traffic in the growing town.

“The beginning of the construction phase of the SR-126 and US-80 roundabout project is great news for the Town of Pike Road as we move onward toward a future filled with opportunity,” said Pike Road Mayor Gordon Stone. “Projects of this type provide great momentum and tremendous possibilities for the citizens of the Town. We thank the Alabama Department of Transportation for their support and partnership on this project.”

According to the Federal Highway Administration, roundabouts have been proven to enhance road safety and reduce traffic congestion.

Drivers can expect delays in the area as crews begin to work. If you must drive through the construction zones, please drive with caution.

The project is expected to be completed in spring 2026.
