Multiple Projects - Positive Momentum

ONWARD Town of Pike Road is a multi-project capital improvement initiative adopted by Town of Pike Road leaders, Mayor Gordon Stone, Councilman and Mayor Pro Tempore Rob Steindorff, Councilwoman Angie Bradsher, Councilman Chris Dunn, Councilman Doug Fuhrman, and Councilman Chris Myers on April 24th, 2024. This inaugural phase of the ONWARD Town of Pike Road initiative encompasses interconnected projects across our 160-square-mile coverage area. By unanimously adopting the ONWARD Town of Pike Road initiative, the Town of Pike Road leadership has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining our momentum and continuing the progress evident across our beloved hometown.

Check out some of the projects you will see us working on across Town, which are included in the ONWARD Town of Pike Road initiative:

  • Roundabout projects in our Waugh Town Center.
  • Intersection improvement projects at the north and south ends of Marler Road.
  • Infrastructure improvements, including sewer expansion.
  • Increased pedestrian access for Pike Road Station and Founders Station.
  • An economic development park in a prime infrastructure location along Highway 231.
  • A 9-court municipal tennis complex located on land donated by Cottonwood Golf Club and multiple pickleball courts.
  • Extensions of our Natural Trail System across four Town Centers.
  • Establish an Arts District, including refurbishing the historic McFadden Home, a community auditorium/theater space, and a multipurpose arts & recreation facility.
  • A livestock teaching barn that will support agriscience studies for 4-H/Pike Road FFA and opportunities to expand agribusiness in the community.
  • A multipurpose facility near the Georgia Washington Campus.
  • An amphitheater project utilizing available land at Pike Road Agriculture, Recreation, and Performing Arts Park.
  • Investment in PRS athletics in conjunction with the new high school.
  • A tribute to first responders and the military at a new multi-use trailhead.
  • An all-inclusive playground will be added to the redesigned and expanded Veterans Park, and enhancements will be made to the Rolling Hills Park playground. 
  • Investment in fire, rescue, public safety facilities, equipment, and services.
  • Working with our partners, the Town of Pike Road is also pleased to announce multiple investments that will meet needs across Pike Road, as expressed in the Comprehensive Plan.
